Lubbock Police is investigating the fatal shooting of a 4-month-old baby at the hands of a 14-year-old boy.
The incident occurred Tuesday at a home where the suspect was with a “group of juveniles” before he fired the fatal shot, authorities said in a news release.

The baby was rushed to University Medical Center where they were pronounced dead, Lubbock Police said.
Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit arrested the teen hours later. He was booked to the Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center. His identity was not made public.
Investigators are now working to determine whether the shooting was accidental. The juvenile was initially charged with manslaughter pending the investigation results.
