Cardiff news, Wales news.

Gruesome details of abuse against a 5-year-old Wales boy emerged during the trial of his mother, her partner, and a 14-year-old juvenile who had been living with the family last year.

Logan Mwangi’s body was found in a river on July 21, 2021, after his mother, Angharad Williamson reported him missing.

Prosecutors alleged that Williamson, her 40-year-old boyfriend John Cole, and the teen were all aware that Logan was dead when they the called police. The juvenile defendant admitted to throwing little Logan down a flight of stairs months before he died.

  • “The prosecution’s case is that Logan was murdered and each of these three defendants played their part in the killing of that five-year-old child,” Prosecutor Caroline Rees told jurors.

An autopsy had determined that Logan’s injuries were “so extreme you would expect to find them as a result of a fall from a great height or a high-velocity road traffic accident.”

Surveillance footage caught the “monster” teen and Cole leaving the residence with the victim’s body, hours before he was found in the river.

“Angharad Williamson must have been awake and up and about, fully aware Logan had died and that his body had been dumped in the river by her partner – disposed of like they were fly-tipping rubbish,” Rees added.
