Oakland news, California news.

While remodeling the historic Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center in downtown Oakland Wednesday, construction workers discovered a “mummified” man’s body in the walls.

“Upon arrival, officers located what appears to be a deceased adult male, in late stages of decay,” police said.

Authorities are now working to identify the decedent and determine how he ended up within the building’s walls.

“Any theory is possible. It could be anything from someone who got in behind the wall and became trapped and died to someone putting the person there. God only knows,” Lt. Ray Kelly said.
