Police in Toco, in Trinidad and Tobago Island, is investigating after two fishermen made a grisly discovery of a headless human body floating in waters Monday afternoon.
The body appeared to be that of a man and it misses its head; when it was first spotted at around 4 p.m., a witness jumped into the water and managed to tie a rope length to it.
Police said that the headless corpse was that of a man of a slim build and light brown complexion.
The victim had a tattoo reading “Leonora Isabel” on the back and was still wearing blue jeans.
Sangre Grande Mortuary will conduct an autopsy to determine a cause of death but authorities are counting on the public’s help to identify the body.
