The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office announced in a statement that two of the three escapees that ran away from the county jail Friday were found dead.
Prior to their deaths, Tobias Carr and Timothy Sarver were involved in a convenience store burglary and a police chase in Wilmington, North Carolina where their vehicle became disabled.
Authorities declined to give the details of the incident leading up to the inmates’ death; a third escapee, Johnny Brown, is still at large.
The threesome had on Friday accessed an overhead air vent system at the Sullivan County jail where they served time and succeeded to escape, taking off in a white Chevrolet Silverado, police had said.
