A straight-A Tennessee college student was busted on 304 counts for selling 73 guns to an undercover NYPD officer in the course of a year.
Prosecutors alleged that Shakor Rodriguez sold the agent semi-automatic and assault-style weapons between July 17, 2020, and Dec. 22, 2021.
Nearly 60 guns were loaded at the time of selling but the 23-year-old had also hawked at least 40 high-capacity magazines to the undercover cop.
Rodriguez committed all that while making the dean’s list at his Austin Peay State University. Authorities said that the weapons were bought for between $1000 and $1,500 each.
“I would not have expected that of him,” a Bronx resident who knew the suspect since he was a child said. “He wasn’t a thug, he was respectful.”
