Authorities looking for survivors after smuggling boat capsized with 40 migrants on board off Florida coast

Florida authorities and US Coast Guard have launched a massive rescue operation in the hopes of finding survivors after a “human smuggling boat” capsized off the coast last Saturday.

It wasn’t until Tuesday that a Good Samaritan alerted the Police of the ordeal when he helped a survivor reach land, nearly 60 hours after the incident.

    The survivor told police that it departed from Bimini, Bahamas and that no one was wearing a life jacket on board.

    Coast Guard agents are currently combing the sea through air and water to locate the 39 people that remain unaccounted for.
