President Biden had phoned Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy to “clear the air” after insulting him during a Monday meeting with members of his Cabinet.
The incident took place when Doocy asked a question about inflation after the President’s delivered his remarks at the meeting.
“Will you take questions on inflation? Do you think inflation will be a political liability ahead of the midterms?” Doocy asked.
“No, it’s a great asset, more inflation. What a stupid son of a *****,” Biden could be heard telling his Cabinet.
Following the ordeal, Doocy commented on Biden’s insult on “The Five”: “Yeah, nobody has fact-checked him yet and said it’s not true.”
Doocy later confirmed that the President called him about the remarks, telling him it was “nothing personal” and encouraging him to keep asking different questions than the other reporters.
