The woman who fell to her death while holding her 2-year-old son at Petco Park last September had intentionally committed a murder-suicide.
The victims were identified as 40-year-old Raquel Wilkins and Denzel Browning-Wilkins. They were seen standing on a bench near the railing at the San Diego baseball stadium alongside the child’s father moments before the incident.
Authorities said that after a thorough investigation including “dozens of interviews, reviewing of available video footage and collecting background information to determine what led to the deaths,” they made the grim conclusion.
An eyewitness recalled seeing Wilkins falling from the bench to the floor once before getting back onto the bench and climbing the railing.
Detectives said that the victims’ family had requested privacy and that they couldn’t release further details.
