Police find homicide suspect dead inside Oroville home while conducting search warrant

A homicide suspect was found dead inside an Oroville residence Friday morning as Sacramento Police officers served a search warrant to arrest him.

Robert Miller, 41, was named a suspect in connection to the shooting death of Kimberly Sosa in a parking garage on Jan. 5.

The 41-year-old woman was found shot to death in the parking garage in the 2800 block of K. Street. Investigators identified Miller as Sosa’s killer.

  • When a SWAT team arrived at the Oroville home at 7 a.m. Friday to arrest Miller but found him dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

    Area schools were placed on “precautionary shelter-in-place” as investigators processed the scene.

    “We do not feel students are in danger,” School District officials said on Facebook. “Another message will be sent when lockdown is lifted.”
