Memphis Police hunt for suspects after 1-year-old boy shot dead

Memphis Police Department investigators are working to name a suspect in a Wednesday fatal shooting that claimed the young life of a baby boy.

Officers responded to the shooting scene at 2100 block of Clayton Avenue at around 10 p.m. and rushed the one-year-old victim to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital where he was declared dead.

  • Police said that a second person sustained gunshot wounds in the same incident and is currently listed in critical condition at the Regional One Health hospital.

    “This is an ongoing homicide investigation,” the Memphis Police Department noted in a tweet, urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.

    The department did not immediately identify the victims or provide details about their relationship.
