Hobbs news, New Mexico news.

A New Mexico teen was arrested after surveillance cameras caught the horrific moment she tossed her newborn son in a dumpster on Jan. 7.

18-year-old Alexis Avila admitted to getting rid of the baby boy because she panicked; she told detectives she only learned she was pregnant last week and gave birth without medical assistance at her family’s home.

The baby was found alive by scavengers six hours later after they heard him crying. He was wrapped in a dirty towel inside a trash bag.
