California man arrested after stabbing two others, killing one at Santa Ana skatepark

A Santa Ana man was arrested Friday after he allegedly stabbed two others at a local skatepark, killing one.

Police could identify the suspect as Nicholas Nunez after reviewing surveillance footage from Centennial Skatepark where the incident occurred Wednesday evening, just after 8:30 p.m.

Witnesses also said that the 27-year-old man was involved in a dispute with the victims before stabbing them to the chests.

  • The deceased victim was later identified as 27-year-old Jose Merlan. Nunez was booked into jail facing murder and attempted murder charges.

    It appears that it had been an ongoing dispute between the suspect and victims as they were caught fighting on surveillance footage.
