Harvey news, Illinois news.

An Illinois man who was acquitted of three counts of first-degree murder is now in custody for fatally shooting a teenage boy and setting his body on fire.

17-year-old Isaiah Davis was found on fire in a Harvey alley on Oct. 28 shortly before midnight. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into his death led officers to Faheem Norwood, the last person to be seen with Davis before his death. The 34-year-old was on parole and just acquitted of three murders and one attempted murder count.

He also tried to burn the gun with the victim and cut a carpet with the victim’s blood to pieces to get rid of the evidence.

Leslie Bell, the teen’s grieving mom, said in a press conference that while she looked for her then missing son, she went to the suspect’s home to ask him where Davis was.

“I was able to meet with him and look him in his eye. I knew that it was him who killed my son,” she said.
