Unimaginable Tragedy: High School hokey incident leaves player dead

A high school hockey game had ended in a tragedy Thursday after one of the players sustained fatal injuries and died at a local hospital.

The deadly incident occurred during a game in Greenwich late Thursday, a matchup between Brunswick School and St. Luke’s School from New Canaan.

According to a statement from the Greenwich Police, “a player from the other team fell to the ice” during the game.

    The second player was taken to Greenwich Hospital where he “died as a result of the injury.”

    “We are devastated,” Brunswick Head of School Thomas Philip told local reporters. “An unimaginable tragedy.”
