Henrico news, Virginia news.

The Henrico Police Department identified the victim of a Tuesday fatal shooting as 27-year-old Anthony Sweat, the brother of Washington Football Team Defensive End Montez Sweat, 25.

The grim news comes as the team is dealing with last week’s shock of the crash that involved Deshazor Everett, killing his girlfriend Olivia Peters.

“It is rough, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families,” Head Coach Ron Rivera said. “We try to make sure that players understand that we’re here for them.”

Wide Receiver Terry McLaurin told reporters that his teammates are currently going through “things that are much bigger than football” adding that he tries to “lend a hand.”

“Make sure they’re Okay, making sure they’re in my prayers and genuinely checking in on them, not just saying, ‘Hey, I’m thinking about you,’” McLaurin said.
