A homicide investigation is underway in Maricopa County, Arizona after the body of a missing man was found lifeless in the desert.

Investigators said that Benjamin Anderson had suddenly canceled a brunch with his friend Daniel Stahoviak on Dec. 31, the day he vanished.

Stahoviak grew worried about the 41-year-old who had told him he was fatigued and went to check on him at around 6 p.m. He found Anderson’s clothes and credit cards all around the place with his bed still unmade, something that startled Stahoviak, who knew his friend was very tidy and organized.
