An East Haven, Connecticut boy is being treated for severe burns after trying the popular but dangerous TikTok challenge on Tuesday.

Firefighters rushed to the child’s home late at night and determined he had been attempting the “whoosh bottle experiment” to hear the cool loud “whoosh” sound that flammable vapors would produce when combusted in a five-gallon bottle.

“Take a few minutes to talk to your children about the dangers of players with ignitable liquids and matches and monitor what they are watching,” Fire Marshal Charles Miller said.
