Atlanta news, Georgia news.

A Roswell High School quarterback prospect dies at the age of 18 after suffering complications following routine surgery.

Robbie Roper was hospitalized Sunday and underwent surgery. He kept posting supporting messages for his teammates on social media until his family brought the grim news Wednesday.

“He was our biggest joy to our family. We are proud of the young man he has become. He will be missed by his friends and family dearly,” the statement read.

Hometown Atlanta Falcons were quick to pay tribute to the late football talent that had led his high school to a 10-3 record and top 10 ranking, after throwing for 3,010 yards and 37 touchdowns.
