Elementary school student suspended for a year after coming to school with loaded gun

A North Carolina child is suspended from school for an entire year after he allegedly brought a loaded gun to school premises to show it to friends, authorities said.

The W.H. Knuckles School second-grader was reported to his teacher by a friend who saw the gun during recess when the boy started showing it off.

    Local news outlets said that the incident is the second of its kind at the Robeson County elementary school this year and the fifth within the school district.

    Lumberton Police Department is investigating the incident but did not file charges so far.
