Franklin County authorities have labeled the death of a Missouri teen as a homicide after her body was found lying next to a parked vehicle near highway 100 Wednesday.

Eureka resident Kiley Kennedy was an 18-year-old senior at Eureka High School and was set to graduate next spring.

Hours before her body was found, Kennedy’s best friend Gia recalled feeling something wrong when the teen didn’t answer her calls.

“I kept calling after because, usually, she answers. Then, I found out the hard way, in just the worst way possible,” she added.
