‘Happy, friendly, and caring’ Virginia home depot employee dies underneath forklift that fell on him

A Virginia man was pronounced dead just after midnight on Tuesday at the scene of a forklift accident at a Fairfax home depot where he worked.

43-year-old Paul Gato was trapped underneath the machinery after it fell on him while he unloaded supplies from a delivery truck.

  • The driver of the truck heard the commotion and spotted Gato underneath the heavy equipment. He “immediately summoned emergency medical services and police.”

    The firm’s Spokesperson Margaret Smith described the victim as “a happy, friendly and caring person who was always there when someone needed a hand.”

    “We’re heartbroken by the loss of our friend and fellow associate of nine years, and his family is in our prayers.”
