Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman Everson Griffen sparked concerns and fears over his mental health state after he posted several videos of him waving a gun and talking about being in danger.
“Vikings representatives and the team’s mental health professionals have been on-site at Everson Griffen’s home since early this morning and are cooperating with law enforcement,” the team said in a statement.
“Our only concern at this time is the safety and well-being of Everson and his family. We will have further comment at the appropriate family.”
In one of his disturbing posts, Griffen talked about being targeted by someone “trying to pop” him.
“I still got clips left. This is my gun registered to me, I bought all my bullets around town, Dalvin Cook helped me purchase this gun. It all belongs to me.”
The 33-year-old star, who is an 11-year NFL veteran, had suffered a series of mental issues that saw him jumping out of an ambulance on his way to a mental health facility back in 2018.
