The high-profile trial of Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse wrapped up Friday after the jury reached a verdict to acquit the defendant of all the charges he faced.

Kyle Rittenhouse, 18, was found not guilty of the six criminal charges including reckless homicide, intentional homicide, recklessly endangering safety, and possession of a deadly weapon by a minor.

Rittenhouse broke down in tears after hearing the verdict that required long days of deliberations. His defense maintained that he was attacked by the two victims, Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, when he fired the shots.

Shortly after reading the verdict, Judge Bruce Schroeder told the jurors that they are free to decide whether to make public statements.

“You’re welcome to do so as little or as much as you want. The media have requested, and it’s up to you whether you want to contact them,” he said.
