San Diego news, California news.

A California infant was pronounced dead at a Colina Del Sol hospital last week; days after her “dangerous” parents regained her custody from social services.

Delilah, 3-month-old, was unresponsive when officers arrived at her parents’ residence off of Maple Street, on November 9 shortly before 11:30 p.m.

Brandon Copeland, 21, and Elizabeth Ucman, 22, were subsequently arrested and charged with murder over their daughter Delilah’s death.

The infant had been temporarily removed from her parents’ home when she was days old. Children’s Services had determined Copeland and Ucman’s residence was unfit for a small baby as it was “too dirty.”

But while Delilah stayed in safety with her great grandmother, the couple managed to clean up the apartment and was therefore entitled to regain custody of her.

“We have a whole family of people that would have taken care of this baby. I know my granddaughter was dangerous. I knew this, I told social services,” the relative said.
