Irving news, Texas news.

An Irving, Texas infant died Sunday after falling out of their mother’s car and getting run over by an unsuspecting driver who kept moving for a while.

The tragic incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. Sunday when an 8-month-old fell out the open back-right door of a vehicle as their mom made a left turn, Irving Spokesperson Robert Reeves said.

“We do not believe there was any malicious intent. We are not calling it a hit-and-run because we don’t think the person that ran over the child knows they ran over that child,” Reeves said at a news conference.

“We are just asking that anybody that was in the area, around 10:30 Sunday morning, to definitely contact us.”

“Whoever is operating that vehicle, it’s their responsibility to make sure all children are in the age-appropriate seats they’re required to be in.”

The official said that the incident was tragic to witness because it involves an innocent baby who died due to their mom’s recklessness.

“As an officer makes their career, thought the years you see a lot of things that should never have to see,” He said. “Our officers that have young children, this definitely hits home with them. Anybody that has children, this hits home.”
