President Joe Biden announced on Thursday a “framework” of his economic agenda in the last effort to bring Democrats together after months-long negotiations.

“No one got everything they wanted, including me, but that’s what compromise is. That’s consensus and that’s what I ran on,” Biden said.

“I ran for President saying it was time to reduce the burden on the middle class to rebuild the backbone of this nation working people in the middle class. It couldn’t have been any clearer.”

The bipartisan infrastructure bill on social spending and climate policy agenda had been the subject of House discussions after it was Senate-passed but didn’t reach the deal level as several progressive Democrats opposed it.

“I campaigned on that and the American people spoke,” Biden continued. “This agenda that’s in these bills is what 81 million Americans voted for. More people voted than at any time in American history. Their voices deserve to be heard. Not denied, or worse, ignored.”
