The death of a Georgia teen was ruled a homicide this week after autopsy results revealed he was beaten to death with a belt or strap-like object.
15-year-old Jallen McConnie was in a visit to his cousin’s NYC apartment on June 28 when the 32-year-old man got annoyed and beat him to death.
After initially claiming McConnie was involved in a fight on the street, Mitcaux Booker admitted to murdering the autistic boy because he disturbed him while he watched Netflix.
Booker confessed to assaulting the teen with a belt for at least “fifty times over the course of an hour.”
“After beating Jallen McConnie, the defendant led Jallen McConnie to the shower and observed Jallen McConnie ‘buckle’ and slump down into the tub with the water running.”
Booker then left the teen unconscious there for a couple of hours. His sister and her husband were present at the time of the crime but it remains unclear whether they’ll face charges.
“I’ve never seen him be violent,” a neighbor of Booker said. “I’ve known him to be very sweet, very social…He was always a mediator.”
