Pennsylvania man admits ‘putting bullets in’ postal worker, claiming he poisoned his family with cyanide

A Pennsylvania man had confessed to shooting an on-duty postal worker to death Thursday over allegations that the victim had poisoned him and his family with cyanide.

Eric M. Kortz, 53, detailed how he stopped Louis Vignone’s car before “putting some bullets in him” while the victim sat in his service vehicle.

Vignone, who served as a United States Postal Service worker was wearing his uniform at the time of the shooting. Locals said that it was his work for the last 15 years.

  • “He didn’t seem like anybody could have a grudge against him. Just seemed like a real nice guy,” one said.

    Right after the shooting, Kortz surrendered at the Carnegie Borough Police Department stating that “he shot someone and wanted to turn himself in.”

    Kortz now faces a maximum punishment of life behind bars or the death penalty for the deliberate murder of a federal worker.
