Slain bodies of missing North Carolina couple found in local newspaper offices

The lifeless bodies of a missing North Carolina couple were found in the headquarters of a newspaper late Friday with detectives searching for clues regarding their deaths.

Newton Police confirmed that Cindy Hull, 55, and Larry Brigham, 58, were reported missing and had been on the lookout until their parked cars were spotted outside The Observer News Enterprise on North College Avenue.

  • Police Chief Vidal Sipe added that the couple was apparently fatally shot but that it remains unclear their deaths were the result of a murder-suicide.

    “This is a tragic situation and our prayers are with the Hull and Brigham families,” Sipe said.

    “We also want the public to know that this appears to be an isolated incident and there are no remaining threats to the community.”
