Florida authorities announced Thursday the death of an Orlando inmate serving time for helping his son kill, dismember and bury his daughter-in-law.
Angel Luis Rivera passed away Wednesday at the Central Florida Reception Center months after he was sentenced to life for the gruesome murder of Nicole Montalvo.
The crime took place on October 21, 2019, when the victim dropped her 8-year-old son off at his father, Christopher Otero-Rivera’s home and vanished.
Prosecutors said that evidence revealed the woman was abducted, killed, dismembered, burned, and then buries at the separate properties of the father and son.
The pair wanted Montalvo to “disappear” so they could get full custody of the child. Their initial plan was to send her to jail on drug possession charges.
