Shooting targeting children standing at Louisville bus stop leaves 1 killed, three injured

A Louisville, Kentucky shooting has claimed the life of an innocent child and left three others with gunshot wounds at a local bus stop early Wednesday morning.

Authorities said that the drive-by shooting occurred at around 6:20 a.m. as the kids waited for their school bus, police said.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while another sustained wounds and had to be hospitalized.

  • Two others had minor injuries, with one of them declining medical treatment at the scene.

    Reports said that the children were waiting to be transported to the Eastern High School.

    “I had to hold the wound of a little boy and tell him he was going to be OK,” a witness said.

    The deceased boy was a Jefferson County Public School student. Surveillance footage from the scene is being probed for any information that may lead to a suspect.
