22-year-old Bronx man killed, three others including child injured at Claremont Park cookout

The New York Police Department is looking for the gunman who opened fire at a cookout in Claremont Park late Saturday, killing a young man and wounding three others.

The shooting took place in the area of Teller Avenue and Mount Eden Parkway at around 11:13 p.m.

As many as 200 people were in attendance at the event when the incident occurred, police said. A dispute suddenly erupted and quickly escalated into gunfire.

    The victims were a 22-year-old man who died at BronxCare Health System, another who reached Lincoln Hospital by himself seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to the leg, two victims with bullet wounds in the torso, and an 11-year-old boy shot in the shoulder.

    Police urged anyone with information about the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
