The FBI and North Port Police Department have launched multiple missing person investigations after the revelation that Brian Laundrie is also unaccounted for.

“It is important to note that while Brian is a person of interest in Gabby’s disappearance, he is not wanted for a crime,” the NPPD said in a statement.

“We understand the community’s frustration. We are frustrated too. For six days the NPPD and the FBI have been pleading with the family to contact investigators regarding Brian’s fiancée Gabby Petito.”

Richard B. Stafford, Petito’s family’s attorney, commented on the new development in the saga of the missing 22-year-old woman.

On Friday, NPPD Spokesperson Josh Taylor revealed that Laundrie’s family did not hear from him since Tuesday and invited detectives to their residence.

“They’ve called us there this evening and claimed they had not seen their son since Tuesday. This is our first interaction with Laundrie’s parents.”

“We know that their son was back here in this community on September 1, she wasn’t reported missing by her family until Sept 10 or 11. So there’s already been a huge amount of time that he’s been back there in this community.”
