Police are actively looking for a 22-year-old New York woman last seen leaving a hotel in Salt Lake City while on a trip with her fiancé on August 24.
Gabby Petito remains unaccounted for two weeks after she went on a cross-country road trip with Brian Laundrie.
Laundrie raised suspicions after he returned safely from the trip, kept refusing to cooperate with detectives, and hired an attorney.
An Instagram post from his account with pictures of both him and Petito added to the mystery of the young woman’s disappearance.
“My biggest fear is that one day I’ll wake up and it will have all been a dream, because that is what every second has felt like since the moment we found each other,” Laundrie wrote.
“Till death do us part or until I wake up, I’m so happy the answer was yes.”
Petito’s father described his missing daughter as a “free-spirited” person who adored adventures.
“Clothes didn’t impress her. Cars didn’t impress her. Experiences – that’s what impressed her.”
