The NFL community is mourning the sudden passing of former 49ers linebacker Parys Haralson at the age of 37.
The late player spent the last two years of his career with the New Orleans Saints after remaining a loyal member of the Niners for seven years. Even after his retirement, he served as the team’s director for two other years.
“The 49ers are heartbroken and shocked by the news of Parys’ tragic passing,” the team said in a release.
“Parys was a beloved member of our organization that lived life with an extraordinary amount of passion and joy while leaving an inedible mark on everyone he came across. We extend our condolences to Parys’ family and loved ones.”
San Francisco 49ers’ defensive coordinator Vic Fangio added that the decedent was very popular among coaches and players.
“Coaches like him. There isn’t anybody in the building that doesn’t like him because that’s just who he is as a person,” he said.
No cause of death has so far been communicated.
