Florida mom arrested after teen, 14, crashed van carrying 6 children including a toddler who died

A Florida toddler passed away following a crash involving a minor driver who was behind the wheel of a van carrying six children and his mom.

Joyce Cara Zamago, 44, was charged with allowing her unlicensed minor son to drive without a license causing the death of a 4-year-old girl.

  • The fatal crash occurred at around 6:30 p.m. on Florida SR-82 when the teen turned left and collided with an SUV carrying three children and three adults.

    The mother, the 14-year-old driver, a 10-year-old boy, an 8-year-old, and a 3-year-old all sustained various injuries.

    The occupants of the SUV were reportedly not harmed despite their vehicle landing off the road. The roadway was shut for several hours following the accident.
