Florida authorities said that the woman accused of fatally stabbing her 15-month-old daughter and injuring two family members Monday had, hours earlier, spoke about getting a vision.
The 38-year-old was arrested with self-inflicted stab wounds at around 9 p.m. after police received several calls about screaming at the Miami-Dade residence.
She had already killed her tot daughter and severely stabbed her husband and a teenage daughter. Four other children fled the house unharmed.
“It’s a very sad day when a 15-month-old loses her life to domestic violence, but considering there were six children in the house, this could have been much worse,” Det. Alvaro Zabaleta said.
A neighbor told police that around seven hours earlier, the suspect showed up at her door holding a baby and talked about getting a vision.
“She said, ‘Have you taken a shot? Please don’t take those shots. I got a vision today from God and he said anybody who takes a shot was going to hell,’” the neighbor said.
