Florida authorities are mourning the loss of one of theirs who had passed on August 20 from Covid complications.
The death of 43-year-old Sergeant Patrick Madison is the fifth among law enforcement members in Florida due to Covid in the course of a single week.
The 15-year veteran was a decorated Coral Springs Police Department officer. He is survived by his mom, son, and two siblings.
“Pat’s death is tragic and untimely; he was taken from us way too early,” Coral Springs Police Chief Clyde Parry said.
“Announcing the death of one of our members is the hardest thing I have had to do as Chief of Police.”
“Especially when that member had a tremendous impact on our organization, and a bright future ahead of them,” he added.
