Pennsylvania authorities have positively identified the body of a 3-year-old boy found along the Allegheny River on Saturday as a child who went missing the previous afternoon.
Dwight Dinsmore wandered away from his family during a camping trip in the area before being found dead at about 2:40 p.m. Saturday.
He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt with a black collar and the picture of a motorcycle on its front.
The search for him started Friday at around 3:15 p.m. and involved family members, several police departments’ officers, and K-9 units.
Efforts were called off at around 9 p.m. Friday due to local thunderstorms.
“The death is being ruled an accident,” Armstrong County Coroner Brain K. Meyers said. “There are no further details at this time.”
