A Florida mom has been fatally shot Wednesday during a Zoom conference with co-workers when her toddler came across a loaded gun.
Shamaya Lynn, 21, was in a live call when her toddler appeared behind her. Co-workers then heard the gunshot and saw the woman fall dead.
Police officers and first-responders rushed to the scene where they pronounced Lynn dead from a gunshot wound to her head.
“Investigators determined that the injury was caused by a toddler who found a loaded handgun, which was left unsecured by an adult in the apartment,” Altamonte Springs Police Officer Rob Ruiz said.
It was later revealed that the weapon belonged to the toddler’s dad who may face criminal charges for leaving a loaded gun unsecured and within the reach of his two children.
