Friends and colleagues of Florida Radio talk show host Dick Farrel are mourning his death from the coronavirus earlier this week after battling the illness for three weeks.

Farrel, 65, had repeatedly made jokes out of jabs and Dr. Anthony Fauci, posting offensive posts on his Facebook page as recently as on July 3.

“Why take a vax promoted by people who lied 2u all along about masks, where the virus came from, and the death toll?” Farrel wrote.

“Vaccine Bogus Bull Shid!, Two peeps I know, got vaxed, now have corona, hospitalized critical. Thank you, Moderna, FOR NOTHING!”

  • But after he contracted the virus, Farrel had changed his mind per his friends. Many of them claimed they received farewell texts from him asking them to get vaccinated.

“He is the reason I took the shot,” Amy Leigh Hair, Farrel’s closest friend, said. “He texted me and told me to ‘Get it!’ He told me this virus is no joke and he said, “I wish I had gotten it!”

“As you can imagine, I am very upset about his demise and will miss him greatly,” Radio veteran George Kalman, said of his late lifetime pal.

“He fought like a tiger. Please don’t put off getting attention for this illness. Yes, for some it has minimal effects, but for others it is deadly. He will be missed.”
