A Texas jury had sentenced a convicted killer to death for executing a San Antonio police officer in 2016.

On July 26, Otis McKane attacked a bailiff in court after learning the verdict. The incident impacted the jury’s decision to impose capital punishment on Friday.

McKane, 36, had stalked detective Benjamin Marconi and waited for the right time to perpetrate his “heinous and unspeakable” crimes prosecutors said.
