A California teen was fatally shot and another is fighting for his life after a gunman opened fire at them during the screening of a movie late Monday.
Police arrested Joseph Jimenez, 20, and charged him with murder, robbery, and attempted murder.
Investigators identified Jimenez thanks to witnesses’ testimony. The deadly shooting occurred at around 11:45 p.m. Monday at the Regal Edwards Corona Crossings theater.
“During the search of the residence, a firearm and additional evidence related to the crime scene were discovered. The firearm matched the caliber of the weapon used in the murder,” police said.
“We do not have a motive for this heinous, unprovoked crime.”
Rylee Goodrich, 18, died at the scene while friend Anthony Barajas, 19, survived the shooting but is currently on life support.
