Cobb County prosecutors confirmed on Tuesday that the toddler found floating in Chattahoochee River late last month was left there by his mom.
27-year-old Breyanla Cooper tried to hide her son’s death when she abandoned the body in the river where it remained for five days.

“The accused concealed the death of the victim by placing the victim in the Chattahoochee River in the National Recreation Area,” County Magistrate Judge Don Hicks said during this week’s hearing.
More charges are pending as the medical examiner’s office work to determine a cause and manner of death.
