Wyoming’s GOP rep Liz Cheney blasted fellow Republican Kevin McCarthy and his decision to remove all five party appointees from the House committee investigating the 6 January attack of the Capitol.

“The American people deserve to know what happened. The people who did this must be held accountable, it must be an investigation that is sober and gets the facts,” Cheney said.

Cheney added that one of the two Republican candidates House Speaker Pelosi had rejected “may well be a material witness to events that led to the Capitol attack.”

“I agree with what the Speaker has done,” she said. “Any person who would be 3rd in line to the presidency must demonstrate a commitment to the Constitution and a commitment to the rule of law, and Minority Leader McCarthy has not done that.”
