DC news, Washington news.

House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy called Nancy Pelosi’s decision to reject his Jan. 6 investigation committee’s candidates as “an egregious abuse of power.”

McCarthy added that if Democrats persist to reject his appointee, the GOP will not participate in the Capitol Riot probe.

The House Speaker has already selected eight out of the required 13 members of the Committee and said that she plans to go forward with the investigation whether Republicans agreed or not.

“With respect for the integrity of the investigation, with an insistence on the truth and with concern about the statement made and actions taken by these members, I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan to the Select Committee,” Pelosi said.
