After a mission that lasted 10 minutes and 10 seconds outside Earth’s atmosphere, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his Blue Origin crew members were “speechless.”
Launching his first crewed flight from the commercial space project Blue Origin, the ex-Amazon CEO and world’s richest man Bezos intended to make “dreams” of traveling outside the planet become reality.
“I’m speechless in a way,” Bezos said. “I don’t have the talent to put it into words what we just experienced, maybe we need to send a poet up at some point or something.”
“It was incredible. When you get up there, you see that it’s this tiny, thin little thing that makes you realize just how precious it is and how fragile it is how much we need to take care of it.”
The Blue Origin capsule reached an altitude of up to 347,563 feet above ground level.
“I also want to thank every Amazon employee and every Amazon customer, because you guys paid for all of this,” the billionaire added.
“Seriously, for every Amazon customer out there and every Amazon employee, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
