Campbell news, California news.

An alert Campbell business owner helped California authorities arrest a heavily armed suspect with sick intentions to eradicate minorities and cops on July 9.

Wesley Charles Martines, 32, drew the tipster’s attention after being caught prowling around cars and looking into a storage unit.

When officers rushed to the scene, they questioned Martines who was “calm and soft-spoken” as he denied any wrongdoing.

“There’s a lot of evidence to unpack still, but based on what we have seen thus far and what was recovered in the car, we believe that this person was going to commit some sort of violence against the community,” Capt. Ian White said.

“We believe we prevented a tragic incident from occurring.”

Detectives also found evidence suggesting Martines was after officers, Black, Hispanic and Jewish people.
