Atlanta shootout leaves 14-year-old dead, two teens injured after armed scuffle involving over 50 minors

At least one teen has died and two others sustained gunshot wounds late Saturday amid a scuffle involving more than 50 kids.

Police rushed to the McAfee Street scene shortly after 10 p.m. and dispersed a melee of youngsters to find out that three had been shot.

A 14-year-old died while two others were transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta-Egleston. A 17-year-old suspect carrying two guns was arrested.

“There were over 50 juveniles involved in this melee,” Deputy Chief Charles Hampton Jr. said.

    A witness described the mayhem recalling a lot of “commotion” before hearing gunshots.

    “By the time I got out of the car and got into the house, I've just seen a lot of police cars and ambulances coming down here.”
